At Meridian Soccer, we adhere to a Player-centric Developmental Philosophy aligned with the Canadian Soccer Association's recommended Long Term Player Development (LTPD) model, diverging from a Results-based Philosophy. While recognizing the importance of winning, our primary focus lies on the individual player's development. This aligns with the Meridian Soccer Club Manual.
Continuous Evaluation
Our technical coaches at Meridian Soccer monitor all club players throughout the season, extending their efforts to familiarize themselves with all players during the indoor and outdoor seasons.
Coaching Requirements
The Travel Team Coach must be confirmed before evaluations begin and commit to completing outstanding coaching requirements.
Additionally, they are required to attend and coach all training sessions according to the indoor schedule.
Meridian Soccer's technical coaches will lead and conduct the evaluations for all players registered for tryouts.
Players interested in trying out for a travel team must attend evaluations and be assessed. Based on their development and experience, they will be placed on either a travel team or in the recreation league.
If your child is in the Under-9 age group and wants to try out for Under-11 evaluations, please email a request to registrar@meridiansoccer.ca.
The travel team program has higher costs than the Recreation League Program, and participants are expected to attend two practices per week, as well as team-selected tournaments and events.
